Here Danta means teeth and kali means name of goddess. Many people come here. According to our legend, sati Devi was daughter of Dakshya Prajapati. Once he hosted a great yagya. He invited all his daughters and son in laws. But he did not send any message to his message to his daughter, sati devi. She had chosen Mahadev, the superior superior god. Dakshya did not like his daughter's marriage with him. Mahadev often appears in ash, snake beads , etc. All relatives were invited but Satidevi  was not invited. She felt herself humiliated. She went herself and force to the agnikund and killed herself.
When mahadev heard about it he became angry and beheaded Dakshya head. He carried sati's dead body on his arms and he strolled many places. Her body started to decay and different parts start falling in various places. The teeth of the sati fell in Bijaypur hence this place become famous as a Dantakali.
